TEST DATA EXPLAINED

These are the 4 main tests used to rate the repellency of textiles.

Water Repellency Test -
measures the ability of a fabric to hold out liquids. W is water and the easiest to hold out, 10 is the most difficult. Typically, new gowns are 5-6.

Oil Repellency Test -
measures the fabric's ability to repel oil & oil-based fluids. The higher the rating the better able the fabric is at holding out oily substances. New gowns would generally be about 5.

Spray Test -
measures the resistance of a fabric to wetting by water. A rating of 0 is poor and 100 is the best, new gowns are typically 90-100.

Suter Test -
shows how well the fabric will hold out water under pressure. A rating of 0 is poor and 100 is excellent. A new single-ply 100% polyester grow would have a rating of 45-50
